Pro’s Tip:
From the tee, favor the right side of the fairway for the best approach shot to the green. Long hitters beware — 265 yards from the tee will land you in a creek that crosses the fairway.

Amateur’s Tip:
From the tee, hit the ball as far as you can in hopes of getting a level lie in front of the second creek. If successful, skull your second shot into the face of the creek. Take a drop and hit your fourth just short of the green, punch on and two putt to earn a 7.

Pro’s Tip:

This is a deep green, be sure to hit enough club.

Amateur’s Tip:
Hit a high weak shot that lands barely on the green front. Throw your arms up in the air yelling for your ball to stop rolling back down the landing area. Punch your shot on the green and three putt because you under-estimated the break. Be happy with your 5.

Pro’s Tip:
Favor the left side of this sloping fairway or your ball will end up in the right rough for sure.

Amateur’s Tip:
In anticipation of hitting your slice aim at the trees on the left of the cart path. Hope the dreaded straight ball doesn’t result. If you execute perfectly the ball will land on the fairway giving you temporary hope as the ball scoots to the right and into the rough.

Pro’s Tip:
This 2-tiered green can be tricky. Be sure you are on the proper level.

Amateur’s Tip:
This 2-tiered green can be tricky. On this hold you really have two choices, hit a hard pull over the trees on the left (remember to yell fore to warn the group on the next tee) or hit a slice that hits the side of the green and runs down into the creek on the right.

Pro’s Tip:
You better keep your ball in the fairway. Beware — this is the most undulating green on the course.

Amateur’s Tip:
Just hit your normal drive on this hole and you should have no problem reaching the green in 5. Beware — this is the most undulating green on the course so be satisfied with your 8 after three-putting.

Hole #6

Pro’s Tip:
Hug the left side from the tee, the fairway slopes to the right. Don’t get greedy with your second shot as the water that guards the left side will swallow up even a slight pull.

Amateur’s Tip:
This hole will make you wish you could hit a draw on command. Wishing won’t make it happen so just go ahead and smash your drive into the trees on the right. After punching out hit your third shot short. After a short chip and two putts you have your 6.

Pro’s Tip:
There’s plenty of room in this fairway, but bunkers on the right and left side are waiting to claim an errant shot.

Amateur’s Tip:
The wide fairway makes this par 4 the least difficult so far. You are going to swing hard and top your drive into the pond in front of the tee. After hitting three more shots to reach the large green you will most likely misread a short putt giving you an 8.

Hole #8

Par 5 505 yards

Pro’s Tip:
This hole is downhill and plays shorter than the 505 yards. The bunker stuck in the middle of the fairway has captured more than a few misplayed shots.

Amateur’s Tip:
Big hitters are encouraged to swing hard on this par 5, but before you hit warn your playing partners to yell fore warning the golfers on the 7th tee as your slice heads that way. The green is easily reachable in 5 and with a good approach you should be able to mark down a 7.

Hole #9

Pro’s Tip:
A hidden creek guards the left and right rough just adjacent to the fairway. The green slopes away on the left side. The smart play is to the center of the green.

Amateur’s Tip:
Smart players will lay up to about the 150 yard maker to take the creek out of play and achieve a level lie.  However, you will want to hit it hard praying that you land in the narrow sliver of fairway.  Alas, you will either be in the creek or blocked out by trees.  If the pin is in the front of the green be happy with your three putt after you roll your first putt from the back of the green clean off the front.
